What is Avocado?

Greetings, readers. Have you ever heard about avocado? Have you ever know about it? Well, for those who don’t, you might wondering what avocado is. In this post, I would like to introduce you some characteristics of avocado.

Avocado is a pear-shaped tropical fruit which rich with natural good fat. Botanically, the fruit is known with its scientific name, Persea Americana. Apart from that, avocado is also commonly called as alligator pear because of the texture of the skin. Additionally, there are also different names of avocado such as aguacate and butter pear.


The color of avocado may varies according to its ripeness. Raw avocado is usually green and it will turn to dark green or purple when it is ripe. There are basically three components of avocado which are the skin, flesh and seed. For the texture, its skin is rough and leathery while the flesh is soft and oily and the seed is hard.
